Report on Week 1 Activities, June 28-July 4, 2007

Note: We are seeking:

I. Communication:
A. Starting to contact in-coming ALA Committee chairs to
schedule phone-call updates. One call completed.
B. Sending thank you notes and congratulations cards to award
winners and Library Champions.
C. Sending brief updates to blog

II. Media:

Working with Macey Morales and Jennifer Petersen at ALA's
Public Information Office to respond to media requests. Thank you also
to the Presidents of AASL (Sara Johns), ALSC (Jane Marino), and YALSA
(Paula Brehm-Heeger) for helping me prepare.

patron demographics)

A. Bob Bullock Texas History Museum: discussion of upcoming
exhibits on Native culture, possible program speakers, and resource
development
B. Lance Armstrong Foundation: review of free resources
available to individuals and libraries, including Spanish language
resources
C. With incoming iSchool adjunct professor about his course
development
D. Attended UT-Austin Fulbright Scholars departure event
E. Attended iSchool school library students summer Capstone
presentations
